Leora Week 13

Wow, so many interesting things to look at!
I liked this site:
 http://www.toolsforeducators.com/

We can be so creative here, dice for games, making board games, wordsearches ect. i would definately use this site to make "an English Day" or "English Reccess". It will be lots of work but these are things that can be kept and reused.

This site:
http://www.teachthought.com/technology/43-great-free-tools-for-teachers-from-edshelf/
also has many new things to try out. Some of them we learned during this course, and some can be for course number 2...     :-)

week 10

Hello Everyone,

I was a bit confused by the noodletools so I tried the simple wikipedia. It will be great for my 11th graders who are weak 4 pointers doing their research projects next year! It can be counted as an English sourse but will be much easier for them to folllow!

week 7

This week was packed with interesting things. I really want to try out the present progressive activity
 http://efllecturer.blogspot.com.es/2011/04/present-continuous-with-gif-images.html
Great way to practice! Since we're learning present and past progressive in 9th grade 3rd level. we can use this for both. Only problem is we don't have the equipment in class so I can only hope it'll work and I'll have internet access...

This site is also great!!
http://www.eslvideo.com/index.php
If I'm already bringing all the equipment to class I might just do one of these as well!

week 4

Wow!! That Photofunia sure is fun!! We uploaded pictures of our kids and had so much fun!! In class I would take pictures throughout the year during special activities, class parties ect- and as an end of the year surprise make a presentation of all their pics- it will make them feel great and special! (as a task they could write a composition about the picture I chose for them!)
Also- when teaching grammer ( I call it writing skills....) I bring in posters or ideas to write about. What fun it could be to bring in an image I created with their pictures in it for them to write a paragraph about!!

Week 3

End of week 3-
Thanks for this great week! I learned so much! I saved all the sites for the different tools in my bookmark because there is no way I will remember so much information, but now I have many fun tools to expiriment with!

I didn't finish all the work for this week yet I'll continue later...

week 3

I was really impressed by all the tools we learned about this week. I fount Text Profiler extremely useful! I took a module C test I am giving my 11th grade class and tried it out. I saw that most of the words were from the Words on BNC 1 – 2000 list. I personally use the fry word list and teach it to my students of all levels. (they get confused even with the first hundred...) so can you please explain the different lists so I can better benifit from this site?

25/2/2004- blogs

Hi everyone!

I would like to share a few things I've read in the education blogs-

1) http://www.edutechintegration.com/
I read the most recent post called
Technology Used Increasingly In Classrooms

one of  the interesting things I learned is the option to give tests by internet assessments. This is especially useful for multiple choice questions- this way the students get a grade right away- (and we have less to check!!)

I'd like to learn how to do this although it can't be used in my classrooms yet since the students (or teachers) don't have private laptops.

2) http://bobsprankle.com/bitbybit_wordpress/

I learned something really interesting here!!! When you are in any web page and are looking for a specific word- instead of spending lots of time looking for this word (or expression) you can press CTRL F, a box will pop up and you write in what you are looking for. Then those words will be highlighted and on the scroller on the side it will show you where the woords appear on the web page. Try it out!

3) http://www.edudemic.com/

Here I read about

5 Top Tech Tools (And How To Use Them In Education)

The one that caught my eye was Edmodo, It’s like your very own Facebook for your classroom. Complete with the tools that let you communicate with your students, parents, and others. Share homework, pictures, and start learning together.- Again, I can't use this in my calss but it was interesting to read about.
